Locals and visitors alike will be heading to the St Marys CBD on the first day of spring for a blooming good time at the St Marys Spring Festival.
Since its inception 43 years ago, the St Marys Spring Festival has blossomed. What was originally a celebration of the first birthday of the Old Post Office Community Arts Centre has grown to become one of the biggest events on the St Marys calendar, attracting crowds of approximately 20,000 – 30,000 people each year.
The 2018 festival is set to be one of the biggest yet as the festival will also be celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Ford Model A going on sale in Australia. This means that there will be plenty of pristine condition cars on display.
Car enthusiasts will be able to see the Model A Ford’s at West Lane, behind Coachman’s Park, during the festival. They will also be to catch the cars as they stroll down Queen Street for the event’s grand parade.
Another reason to head along to this year’s festival will be to catch Peter Rabbit. He’ll be appearing in two kids shows and conducting a meet and greet too.
This year’s festival will also feature a variety of stalls and delicious eats, a host of entertainment and the hallmark grand parade, taking place from 12:30pm.
The festival is completely free to attend so get your friends and family together and celebrate everything there is to love about St Marys and the arrival of spring
