With the spring school holidays just around the corner there’s no better time to get the family together to discover what the outer western Sydney region has to offer.
There are a lot of exciting experiences right on our doorstep and now it’s easier than ever before to find them with the Penrith, Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains councils getting together to create three new driving Experience Trails.
These new trails are designed to help visitors to the region choose their own adventure and uncover some hidden local gems, with an Adventure Trail, Flavour Trail and Nature Trail to choose from.
Each new trail includes a three-day, two-night itinerary and takes in the Penrith, Hawkesbury and Blue Mountains areas with maps, distances, approximate drive times, suggested stops and handy travel tips.
The idea behind the new trails is to encourage people to stay longer in the region and highlight the diversity on offer.
Many tourists to the area are aware of some of the key experiences on offer, however they may not necessarily see outer western Sydney as a place to stay and be enjoyed over a number of days.
The trails will help link together some popular outer west experiences, with lesser-known experiences thrown into the mix as well. It will also help show people the best way to move through the region to make the most of their time here.
With everything from amazing cafes, chocolate factories and farms to stunning natural landscapes and adventures like flying foxes and go-karting, there’s plenty to keep anyone busy all school holidays long.
